A tour around and about the three Medici Palaces, all stages of a 3-century-long escalation of their dynasty.

I do believe you cannot understand Florence if you do not know the story of the Medici family. There are three palaces in Florence that have witnessed their private lives and escalation to power: Signoria, Pitti and Medici-Riccardi. They underwent great artistic renovations since the wealthier the Medici became, the richer their art collections grew. As did their need for self celebration through the use of Art.

This three hour tour – that I personally love! – explores all this by focusing on the Signoria Palace, which we will visit inside. We will look at the incredible frescoes decorating its Hall of the 500 (Salone dei Cinquecento), the Lily Room, the Geographical Maps room, and more. We will then walk to the Pitti and Medici-Riccardi Palaces to admire, from the outside, their unique lavish Renaissance architectures. Art, politics, private life and power all at once; you will love this tour as much as I do!
