The New Sacristy by Michelangelo and the Medici Chapels: the most fascinating setting to see the Renaissance Florence and the Mannerist Florence at the same time. Together we will see Michelangelo’s incredible architecture as well as the statues that he envisioned and sculpted for Lorenzo the Magnificent Medici and his brother Giuliano.

And… the other Medici tombs entirely decorated using the technique of Florentine hard-stone mosaic– “Commesso fiorentino”, a minor-art form that was invented in Florence at the end of the 1500s for the purpose of decorating these Chapels, and which then became an emblem of Florentine craftsmanship.
