Church of Santa Maria Novella. Through Gothic and Renaissance.

The construction of Santa Maria Novella was begun in 1279 and yet the church awes us still today with her grandeur, her Gothic-period stained-glass windows, and the Renaissance works of art that she houses. Inside you will find Masaccio’s Holy Trinity fresco, the Crucifix by Brunelleschi, the Strozzi Chapel by Filippino Lippi and the magnificent Tornabuoni Chapel by Domenico di Ghirlandaio, including a small contribution from his first apprentice, a very young Michelangelo

In the heart of the city and in a well-known piazza, the church of Santa Maria Novella is a masterpiece of art and architecture.
